There Was Never Any Fulani Herdsmen Killings on Abuja – Makurdi Highway – Young Professionals

The United Young Professionals has called on Nigerians especially travellers along Abuja – Makurdi Highway to ignore the fake news circulating on the social media that Fulani herdsmen blocked the road and are killing people.

In a press release signed on Monday by the National Coordinator of the United Young Professionals, Adewole Kehinde, the group said that a team of investigators it sent to Benue State found the information to be false and an attempt to send out fear into the minds of travellers.

“To show the information was false, there are several communities leading to Makurdi from Abuja, the false information never made mention of the specific community. Our investigators purposely took a commercial bus from Mararaba to Makurdi, there was no sign of unrest on the entire length of the road to Makurdi, Benue State, Adewole said.

“Our investigation further showed that nobody has reported to any Police Station along the Abuja to Benue axis of any attacks.

Adewole called on the security agencies to trace the person behind the false information and arrest such person(s) without delay as his/her plan was to cause unrest in the country.
