NUJ National Delegates Conference/Election: NEC Sets Up Credentials Committee

A nine (9)-member committee to plan for the 2018 Triennial Delegates Conference and election of new national officers to pilot the affairs of NUJ, the umbrella body for all journalists in Nigeria, has been set up.
The constitution of the nine (9)-member credentials committee was carried out at the National Executive Council meeting of NUJ in Sokoto on Saturday, June 30, 2018 after hours of extensive deliberations.
The NEC meeting, presided over by the National President of NUJ, Mr. Abdulwaheed Odusile had in attendance, the Deputy National President, Muktar Gidado, National Secretary, Mr. Shu'aibu Usman Leman, members of the Central Working Committee (CWC), Chairmen and Secretaries of the 36 States and Abuja.
The Credential Committee has Dahiru Mohammed Garba as Chairman, Abimbola Thomas Oyetunde - Secretary with Oliver Ossai as member. Representives of the six (6) geo-political zones of the union in the committee are Abba Murtala - Zone A, James Showole - Zone B, Boniface Okoro - Zone C, Ramatu Salami - Zone D, Yusuf Isa - Zone E and Patrick Albert -Zone F.
The Triennial Delegates Conference and Election, which will involve more than 854 delegates, will be held within 90 days.
Two members of the committee, Boniface Okoro from Zone C and Patrick Albert from Zone F had served in the 2015 NUJ National Delegates Conference/Election’s Credentials Committee.
