But within the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), another kind of transformation appears to be unfolding quietly, one that focuses not only on revenue targets, but on the people whose daily interactions shape the institution itself. Justice Tagbo Anieto Gives Conflicting Judgments on Same Matter, Stirring Legal Debate

Justice Tagbo Anieto of the Anambra State High Court, Otuocha Judicial Division, has found himself at the centre of controversy following two rulings delivered within a span of 24 hours—both touching on contractual authority and land title validity, yet arriving at seemingly contradictory conclusions. On *July 24, 2025*, in *Suit No. OT/169/2021*, Justice Anieto dismissed the plaintiff’s case, ruling in favour of the 1st Defendant. The court held that the executive committee (EXCO) which executed the agreement relied upon by the Plaintiff had been previously invalidated by a court of competent jurisdiction. Consequently, the judge ruled that the Plaintiff’s claim “hangs on nothing at all,” declaring Exhibit K2—the foundational contract—illegal and void due to lack of proper authority. Bauchi Humanitarian Ministry Distributes 490 Assorted Bags of Grain, Non Food Items, Cash to New IDPs

 By Bashir Hassan Abubakar Resulting from the civil unrest in Mangu and Bokkos Communities of Plateau State that displaced many people, 490 assorted bags of grains and other non food items were distributed to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) taking shelter in three Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Tafawa Balewa, Toro and Bauchi LGAs of Bauchi State. The assorted grains include 265 bags of maize, 85 bags of 50kg rice, 140 bags of 25kg rice and 35 cartons of spaghetti. This was disclosed to our correspondent by the Bauchi State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka recently at Boto IDP camp, when, alongside the permanent secretary of the ministry Shuaibu Alhaji Mohammed, senior directors and other staff of the Ministry visited the new IDPs whom were taking shelter at a secondary school in the community.
