Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, Thursday, attended the Family Support School Program and Annual Speech and Prize-Giving Day, where he also inaugurated an electronic library facility in the school.

Family Support Program is a Katsina-based public school founded in 1997 with the aim of bridging the gender gap in Nursery, primary and secondary education especially among the female gender.
The school had been refurbished, upgraded and standardized to compete globally with many other schools across the state, as the Masari administration made education central and cardinal to its agenda.

@katgovmedia reports that Masari, whose children are studying in public school as promised during his campaign in 2015 commended the school management noting his government's effort in strengthening the administration of the school particularly the appointment of a Director for the school adding that it was against most peoples' wish "but sometimes we have to take hard decisions today for a better tomorrow" he said.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Badamasi Charanchi, had underscored the effort of the state government in education, noting efforts in areas of infrastructure and teacher welfare as a reason for its success.

The Honorable Commissioner, Ministry for Women Affairs, Dr. Badiyya Hassan Mashi, who was the chief host applauded the governor's commitment noting since 1997, the year the school was created, no single structure was added by government until 2015 when the current administration came on board.

Prizes were given to the best final year students of the school with Bello Aminu Bello being the best final year student of English Language and Rukaiya Abdullahi Ruma as the best mathematics student.

Katsina Media and Publicity gathered that the governor commissioned the multi-million  naira Electronic Library with millions of literature books.
He also commissioned a basket ball court donated to the school by Fidelity Bank PLC.

Katsina Media and Publicity also learnt that over 20 e-library facilities are available across the state; all constructed in the last three years.

It is fundamental to note that the e-library facility can be accessed from anywhere in the world via login into www.katsinalibrary.net.
