FAAC DEADLOCK TOPS AGENDA AS V.P OSINBAJO, GOVERNORS, NNPC BOSS, CBN GOVERNOR MEET

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and some governors have commenced the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting.

The meeting currently taking place at the Presidential Villa,  started about two hours ago with Governors of Katsina, Sokoto, Ogun, Kebbi and some Deputy Governors in attendance.

Also in attendance are top government functionaries including the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, the GMD of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru among others.

At the end of the meeting, the State House Reporters would be briefed on the outcome.

Recall that the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) on Wednesday night met in Abuja to discuss the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) deadlock.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away. According to Comrade Newton, elections did not hold in the seven wards of Nembe-Bassambiri due to the violence orchestrated by political thugs aided by security personnel deployed in the community.
