The people of Ini Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State have eulogized Governor Udom Emmanuel for coming to their rescue after several appeals for government intervention in the area of good roads.

Recall that last year, Governor Emmanuel had approved for construction a massive 14.1 Kilometer road which begins in Odoro Ikpe community, traverses Ikpe Ikot Nkon, Nkana and Obotme all in Ini Local Government Area and terminates in Arochukwu in Abia State.

Over the weekend, Governor Emmanuel represented by his Commissioner for Works; Mr Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, stormed the area to inspect the level of work done on the road being handled by Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited.

Sources in the area divulge that they were seeing their first asphaltic road after about 104 years.

Apparently excited by the level and quality of work done so far on the century-old abandoned road, the community full of appreciation and gratitude for the governor screamed "Indeed, this is record breaking and no love is greater than this".

The people of Ini LGA who share common boundaries with Ikono in Akwa Ibom and Arochukwu in Abia State, engage in farming, fishing and trading.
