Naval boss storms A’Ibom for commissioning of new Military School

 All is now set for the commissioning of the Nigerian Navy Military School, Ikot Ntuen in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The project which was executed through the partnership between the Akwa Ibom State Government and the Nigerian Navy is commencing its academic programme with over 60 students in the Junior Secondary School first year.

Governor Udom Emmanuel alongside the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ibok-ette  Ekwe Ibas, are expected to be in Oruk Anam today, Wednesday for the formal inauguration of the institution.

Governor Emmanuel in support of his education advancement, and the need to boost security in the state, had offered to assist in renovating facilities at the moribund Model College, Ikot Ntuen, for the military school project.
                                                   
Through the Inter-ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee, the Governor went on to renovate several school blocks and supported the efforts of the Navy in presenting the state with a modern military educational academy.

It could be recalled that the State Governor had also kept his promise with the intervention at the former Salvation Army Secondary School, Efa in Etinan which he partnered with the army to transform into an Army Secondary School.

Since assumption of office in 2015, Governor Udom Emmanuel has kept to his promise to continuously develop, mobilize, and empower his people through planned and well-articulated welfare and capacity-enhancing programmes, using special leadership models.

One of such models is the execution of direct community-based rural projects through the Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee.

This approach makes it easier for the governor to intervene directly in the respective communities, by engaging resource persons and artisans in the community for the execution of a project, thereby avoiding the bottlenecks and processes involved in major projects executions.

Today, more than 1000 of such projects, scattered across the 31 local government areas, in the areas of education, healthcare, rural electrification and mini water schemes, are at various levels of completion.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa
