Children's Day Celebration Kastina State Govt Pampers Children



- Presents awards to schools

Children in Katsina State were celebrated on Sunday, 27th May, as part of activities for this year's  Children's Day.                                         

The event was held at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina with a match pass and awards presentation to the Governor, forming the highlights.

The occasion was blessed by the Executive Governor of the State, Rt. Hon.  Aminu Bello Masari, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Education,  Special Adviser to the Governor on Girl Child Education and Child Development, Hajia Binta Abba; His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina represented by Marafan Katsina and the Commissioner of Police amongst others.

Masari in his adress explained the efforts of the State Government on Education through effective learning environment, security through fencing of all schools, provision of equipments and learning facilities, prompt payment of salaries and welfare of teachers.

The Governor also called on royal fathers and parents/guardians to take care and provide safe, play ground and enabling environment for the children.

Earlier, in her address, the Special Adviser, Girl Child Education, termed this year's celebration "Creating safe spaces for children"  in view of the challenges children face in the hands of adults which include, child trafikking, child labour, sexual abuse, etc.

Katsina Media & Publicity reports that Abba laid emphasis on the efforts of Katsina State Government in protecting, respecting, and fulfilling the needs of children. She also appealed to all children in the state to pursue their education vigorously. To the parents and guardians, she pleaded that they should create time for their children.

Hajia Yahanasu Abdullahi, the Director of Schools, appreciated the Government for providing teacher/pupil/student cordial interrelations.

The headmistress of Gobarau Primary School, in her speech expressed her gratitude towards the effort of the Masari administration in support of education.

At the end of the event, awards were presented to deserving schools.
