Former PSG boss, Unai Emery set for Arsenal talks

Unai Emery has emerged as a serious contender to Mikel Arteta for the Arsenal job following reports that the former PSG boss is set for talks with the Premier League club.
On Monday morning, Spanish journalist, Guillem Balague, revealed on Twitter that Emery has travelled over to the north side of England’s capital to open up talks with Arsenal, with bookmakers subsequently cutting the Spaniard’s odds from 12/1 to just 2/1 in the betting.
Frontrunner Arteta remains the odds-on favourite for the post at 4/6 - he was previously as short as 1/6 - and Emery’s emergence as a serious candidate means the Man City assistant now faces an anxious wait.
Emery is looking for a new job in the managerial arena after leaving French giants PSG, who have since appointed Thomas Tuchel - who was also linked with Arsenal - as their new manager.
During his two-year spell in Paris, Emery won seven of the eight domestic trophies available to him, including the treble in what proved to be his final season at the helm.
Emery, 46, previously led Sevilla to a hat-trick of Europa League trophies, while he’s also managed Valencia, Spartak Moscow, Almeria, and Lorca Deportiva.
However, if talks with Arsenal chiefs go well, he could soon be venturing over to the Premier League for the first time in his career.
