HOURS AFTER RETURNING TO LABOUR PARTY, MIMIKO AND ADC CHIEFTAIN, OYINLOLA WOO LADOJA IN IBADAN AS OYO PDP CRISIS DEEPENS

By Pat PA Okon

Former governors of Osun  and Ondo States, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Dr. Olusegun Mimiko were among prominent politicians that were in Ibadan Monday to hold meetings with Senator Rasheed Ladoja. Although it could not be ascertained whether the two former governors came for the same purpose or otherwise but a source said that “both visited to convince Ladoja to dump Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and team up with their respective parties.” . While Oyinlola has sympathy for African Democratic Congress, the party supported by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mimiko last week resigned his membership from PDP and returned to Labour Party, on which platform he became governor in 2009. Ladoja had after a stakeholders meeting of PDP held last week Friday at his residence given the national leadership of PDP 7- day ultimatum to rescind its decision to alter the list of Oyo state Exco and publish result of November 4, 2017 state congress held at the Watershed Event Centre, Ibadan. . It was gathered that the alteration made by the PDP national working committee to the Oyo State PDP executive list caused disaffection in the party.
