All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Hopeful, Hon Aderemi Banjo on Monday raised the tone of politics in Lagos State.
The Surulere Constituency 1 aspirant condemned the money score which the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila is flaunting as his only credentials in the 2019 National Assembly election.
He insisted that the House of Representatives Majority Leader has failed to provide the necessary driving force for the progress of the constituency.
Banjo who is out to challenge money politics, 5th term and poor performance gave as one of the reasons for seeking the Surulere Federal Constituency Seat, the urgent need to stem the disconnection between the representative and the wonderful people of Surulere.
Banjo noted that the development of the Surulere Federal Constituency would depend to a great extent on how effectively the people pick up the 5th term challenge.
He urged the electorate not to give fifth chance to someone who did not justify his first, second, third and fourth term.
He accused the majority leader of fooling the electorate and creating problems in Surulere through his one bus and motorcycle to the youths, politicians and community associations.
At a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) sensitization programme organized by Lagos State students, Banjo said it was regrettable that some people in the constituency were pre-occupied with the politics of small bus and motorcycle rather than the performance of the elected officer and how constituency allowances were utilized.
The event took place at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka.
Banjo urged the youths to use the PVC to change Gbajabiamila and other non-performing politicians in 2019.
He promised to deliver on legislation, healthcare, housing and education in three years.
The aspirant who recently notified former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Prince Oluyole Olusi, Chief Adenekan and other notable leaders in Surulere of his intention to contest promised to create jobs, empower the people and provide transportation and scholarships to students.
