Akpabio is a disgrace to Akwa Ibom State

Image
By Senator Anietie Okon I have observed the iniquitous murder of facts, reasoning and lately, the blatant naivety displayed by the discrepant character that only recently succumbed to the pressures of accountability of his stewardship of our dear state by anti-graft agencies and shamelessly subjected himself and the entire Akwa Ibom people to uncommon genuflection on International media. Apparently, this delinquent fully acknowledges the vast capacity of his forebears in shaping the political future of Akwa Ibom State which he plundered with Nazi-style unrelenting devastation. It is also true that apples don’t fall too far from the tree as historical facts of political betrayal of past leaders; conversion of generational assets and another con-driven pillaging of the goodwill and resources of future generations speak volumes of the pedigree, mindset and modus operandi of the small minded fellow. With experience, I am convinced that the Almighty always grants relief to a

Osun Guber Poll As Blueprint For Imo PDP

Image
By Ebere Uzoukwa While the 2018 Osun governorship poll subjects the Nigeria's fledging democracy to another critical test, its inherent lessons are abound as preparations for nomination of candidates gather momentum in the ranks of competing political parties. The lessons are indeed useful to states with transiting governors as well as opposition parties that are democratically disposed to grab power relying on popular and acceptable candidates. It is no longer a news that the exiting governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola, through his performance, offered a good example of how a leader and custodian of people's mandate can assume notoriety and attain to failure in governance and overall leadership. Known for his ill-temperedness, stubbornness and administrative highhandedness, Aregbeshola administered and pocketed State of Osun as his personal estate. He doesn't pretend as his loyalty is solely channeled to Ahmed Bola, the Jagaban of Lagos, whom

Samdaddy: Experience Counts

Image
By Lancelot Obiaku Of all the governorship aspirants in the various political parties in Imo State, Dist. Sen Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) remains the only one who has been equipped with both legislative and administrative experience. The fact that he has been a local government chairman and presently a lawmaker means that he has acquired the much needed leadership experiences to steer the state to greater heights. As a local government chairman during the governorship regime of Chief Achike Udenwa, Samdaddy made his mark. The political scientist ran a local government administration that was able to construct roads and install several other amenities for his people. Those who are conversant with the start up point of his so far glorious political career can attest that Samdaddy's excellent performance as a local government council chairman laid a solid foundation for the political and leadership heights which he has today attained. At the Imo State House of Assembly, where

But it will be communicated appropriately to the rank and file after the meeting of the organised labour,” he said. The declaration came as the labour movement and its civil society allies meet in Lagos today to decide the next line of action on the suspension of negotiations by government.
