UNIPORT ALUMNI FELICITATES WITH ADOKEME AT 61

University of Portharcourt Alumni Association has felicitated with its National President, High Chief Chris Adokeme on the occasion of his 61st birthday celebration, descibing him as a great stabilizer, bridge builder and a leader of uncommon boldness.

The Association in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ono Akpe and made available to newsmen commended Chief Adokeme for his distinguished service to his Alma mater and the Nation as a whole.

The statement quotes, Sir, you are a great stabilizer , bridge builder and a leader of uncommon boldness. 

 We thank you for your service to our unique Alumni and our fatherland as a whole.  As you celebrate your new age, we join your family, friends and associates to wish you many happy returns! May God grant you many more years of good health, long life in service to humanity.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away. According to Comrade Newton, elections did not hold in the seven wards of Nembe-Bassambiri due to the violence orchestrated by political thugs aided by security personnel deployed in the community.
