The speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aniekan Bassey has given his blessings to the much talked about 2 Kings 1 Kingdom Concert by highlife maestro and comedy icon, Sir Wilker & Sir James as they get set for the Abuja edition of the tour.

The number three (3) citizen of the state endorsed the project when he received in his office the two (2) icons and the project manager, Nelson NseAbasi

The event '2 Kings 1 Kingdom' features on stage Sir Wilker and Sir James in an exclusive concert - tour alongside top Akwa Ibom- Nigerian music and comedy stars. Having the theme, 'Akwa Ibom To The World' the event showcases everything Akwa Ibom to the world for subsequent patronage.

The maiden and second editions were successfully held at Eket and Calabar respectively. Creating an atmosphere for fun and networking for and with Akwa Ibom people in the cities.

Speaking, Nelson said 'the economic importance of the concert includes, but is not limited to the need to celebrate the creative ingenuity of Sir Wilker & Sir James as worthy Akwa Ibom Ambassadors and to promote the export of Made In Akwa Ibom talents and products ' .

The seasoned lawmaker confessed his feelings, that Governor Udom Emmanuel will be delighted to receive in audience the two stars whom over the years have used their talent to promote Akwa Ibom culture and brand. Also considering the fact that the '2 Kings 1 Kingdom ' concept is novel.

He gave his assurance that the initiative will enjoy his sincere support and presence.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away. According to Comrade Newton, elections did not hold in the seven wards of Nembe-Bassambiri due to the violence orchestrated by political thugs aided by security personnel deployed in the community.
