 The Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Seriake Dickson, has congratulated his Delta State counterpart, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, who clocks 60, today, Monday, July 8, 2019.                                                                 .                                                 



In a press statement issued at the Forum's Secretariat in Abuja, Gov. Dickson, on behalf of the forum  said as "You majestically stroll into the Diamond Club, I and my colleague-members of the forum, join your family members, political associates, well-wishers and all other teeming Nigerians to you a happy birthday; and thank Almighty God for your life which has been marked by outstanding accomplishments, enduring fulfillment and selfless service to humanity".                                                   
 "We pray that He in His infinite mercies will continue to grant you a longer life, good health, more strength and the wisdom to continue in leading a greater Delta  that will usher in better days for Deltans and Nigerians in general".

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away. According to Comrade Newton, elections did not hold in the seven wards of Nembe-Bassambiri due to the violence orchestrated by political thugs aided by security personnel deployed in the community.
