Gov. Obaseki Appoints Uyi-Oduwa SA on Strategic Planning and Programme Management

The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has approved the appointment of Uyi-Oduwa Malaka as Special Adviser, Strategic Planning and Programme Management Office.

Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki in a statement through the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq, said the governor approved the appointment, which takes effect from January 3, 2019.

Ogie noted, "I  write to inform you that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki, has approved your appointment as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategic Planning and Programme  Management/ Chairman, Programme Management Office with effect from January 3, 2019. This supersedes our earlier Ref.No.SGA. 15/Vol.XII/273 of June 2017".

Before her new appointment, Uyi Oduwa Malaka served as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obaseki.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away. According to Comrade Newton, elections did not hold in the seven wards of Nembe-Bassambiri due to the violence orchestrated by political thugs aided by security personnel deployed in the community.
