GOMBE STATE TO PARTNER TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS FOR IMPROVED SECURITY

Gombe State Government is committed to strengthening security in the state through synergy with traditional leaders and relevant stakeholders.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya made the disclosure when he played host to renown business mogul, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi at the Gombe State Government House.
He said with the influx of many people from neigboring states into Gombe as a result of insurgency and other crises, the need for synergy by government and traditional institutions is paramount.

" to guarantee security, we must go back to the olden days where community leaders account for their subjects from all aspects," the governor stressed.
"Traditional institutions form part of the key security apparatus and therefore need to be carried along in addressing crime in our communities", he added.

"Governor Inuwa Yahaya appealed to his august visitor to lend his support in the empowerment of Gombe State jobless youths by establishing industries in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, Alhaji Muhammad Indimi pledged to use his influence in supporting Gombe State administration in its socio economic development drive.
He said he was in Gombe to identify with the newly inaugurated administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya and to welcome home the emir of Gombe from his long trip to the United Kingdom.

"He expressed appreciation to the governor for accommodating Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs into this state, noting that their infux has over-stretched many government facilities yet the government embraces them for good.

The famous entrepreneur was at the government house in company of His Royal Highness, Emir of Gombe, Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar.
