By Innocent Imoh
The Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon Aminu Bello Masari says his administration has in the last 3 years recruited over 1,100 medical personnel across the state health care provision facilities in the state.
Katsina Media and Publicity reports that the Governor disclosed this while in an exclusive interview with news men, at the Muhammadu Buhari House, the seat of Katsina State Government.
Masari lamented over the dilapidated state of the health sector they inherited adding that almost all the secondary health facilities across the state have been remodeled and upgraded to match the 21st century health provision needs.
According to him "our administration inherited a decayed and absent health infrastructures, but now through our restoration agenda, all the basic facilities are put on ground to meet the needs of our people".
@katgovmedia reports that the Governor further said, more than 30 medical doctors are undergoing training within and outside Nigeria, while 300 students are being sponsored by the state government.
Narrating the historical background of the health facilities, Masari said the Katsina General Hospital was constructed in 1950's, others were in 1960's and 70's, and from that time to date, nothing significant was done to improve the infrastructure of those; neither were the nurses nor the doctors and other auxiliary staff needed by hospitals including medicines made available.
Katsina Media and Publicity reports that the restoration agenda is set to put Katsina State on a path of achieving sustainable development in the next 30 years, in order to emerge as a real sub-national economy first among its equals.
