-  Egiethua,  Cricket Club Abuja tell Oludare Aimola of Nig. Cricket Federation

The Cricket Club, Abuja says Mr. Oludare Aimola, the North Central Representative on the Board of the Nigeria Cricket Federation has done well for the industry.                         

In a congratulatory message signed on behalf of the Club by its Secretary-General, Mr. Michael Egiethua, the club congratulated Mr. Aimola for his steadfastness and diligence thus far in providing leadership in the Facility Department of the Nigeria Cricket Federation. 


               

The statement said: "Earlier on Sunday, 5th August, after our regular training session at the Cricket Club, Abuja, I accompanied him on a site visit of the ongoing upgrade of the Abuja National Stadium Package "B" second playing pitch which is having its pitch irrigation channels worked before the final stages of the work would commence.

"It is expected that at the end of this work, Nigeria will have more world-class Cricket pitches, as the Lagos TBS pitch has been upgraded a few months ago, to enhance the rapid development of the game of Cricket in Nigeria.



"I would also like to use this medium to appeal to the Board of the NCF through its President and Vice President to take a look at the playing pitches at Government College, Ughelli, which has existing facilities for Cricket that can be turned into a huge National assert. The school has three Cricket Pitches within its boundaries.




Concluding the message said "We at the Cricket Club, Abuja, wish you success and we await a speedy completion of these laudable upgrade of playing pitches.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away.
