Osinbajo is an embarrassment to Yoruba nation - Idris Usman
By Innocent Imoh
A human rights activist Idris Usman has called out Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo over his conduct in office, accusing him of desperation to cling to power despite obvious cases of poor governance. In a statement issued on Monday Usman alleged that the Vice President has turned a blind eye to atrocities committed under him despite his background as a pastor.
The message said: “Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has displayed a high level of ambition by continually demonstrating his desire and utmost desperation to cling to the Office of the Vice President. He has shown many times over that he is willing and able to turn a blind eye and even be an enabler of the atrocities committed by this deceitful government of President Muhammadu Buhari that he is an integral part of.”
Usman who is former National Publicity Secretary of the Young Democratic Party (YDP) further said: “Coming from a religious background Nigerians held him to a higher standard but he has turned a blind eye to the plight of the Nigerian people. He has turned a blind eye to the massacre of fellow Christians in the middle belt and the North. He has turned a blind eye to the large scale corruption ongoing in this government of theirs. He has shown Nigerians by his actions and inactions that the truth and standing up for what is right is overrated and unnecessary. The fact that he has been a Pastor all these years only goes to further prove that he has been using the pulpit to advance his own personal ambitions all along.
“Osinbajo has walked side by side with his principal, over pools of blood of fellow compatriots flowing all over the country, on a meaningless march towards 2019 and a possible presidency for his camp of the ruling party cone 2023. While Nigeria has continued on the steep slippery slope of decline in comparison to other African countries that Nigeria supported in the past. While we have become the poverty capital of the world, Osinbajo has not only become wilfully blond but has continued to sell a lie, armed with his photo ops lackeys, to give the impression that all is well even though the quality of life of the average Nigerian paints a different picture.
“While Osinbajo touts the rule of law as a guiding principle of his professional existence and personal conviction, he has more or less looked the other way while Sheikh Ibrahim Elzakzaky, Col. Sambo Dasuki, Jones Abiri and many others have been subjected to humiliation and deprivation without respect for the maxim of our law that presumes a suspect innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. All three men have yet to be proven guilty by any court of law, a temple where Osinbajo ministers, but have remained in incarceration even when our beloved VP preaches the “love thy neighbour as thyself” principle.
“He has joined in parroting honour while his principal who campaigned on the promise that he wouldn’t, nor would he allow any official under his watch, seek medical care abroad. While Prof. Osinbajo has is a regular feature at Nigerian tech events, in the name of promoting local content for revenue generation, his minister of aviation outsourced the logo design for a scam of an airline to an unknown company in Bahrain.”
Idris Usman concluded by saying Prof Osinbajo cannot cast himself in the character of a role model to any Nigerian Youth or Christians aspiring to go into Politics and has called out Prof Osinbajo saying that he has proven to be even more crooked than the average Nigerian Politician whom Osinbajo never misses an opportunity to criticize and demonize, adding that he has helped promote and strengthen the wrong values for which they maligned opponents.
