Bayelsa Guber Primaries: Thugs throw dynamites into residents of Assembly Member, Council Chairman


- Alaibe's men fingered as  plotting to disrupt exercise.

Suspected thugs believed to be sympathetic to a particular aspirant outside the Peoples Democratic Party Restoration Team have thrown dynamites into the residents of two party members in Yenagoa.

The dynamites were exploded in the residents of Honourable Obuku Oforji, the lawmaker representing Yenagoa Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and Hon Victor Isaiah, the Executive Chairman of Brass Local Government Area.

Both houses were attacked on Saturday evening by suspected thugs allegedly  hired by an aspirant who has become disgruntled because of the outcome of the PDP Ward Delegate Congress and the National Delegate Congress.

The two seperate  explosions have been reported to the Commissioner of Police and the State Director of the Directorate of State Service in Yenagoa.

The Chairman òf Brass LGA, Victor Isaiah, said that the incident in his place has been  reported to the Police and the DSS.

He added that the State Director of the DSS and the CP visited his house to confirm what actually happened.

Isaiah added that his younger brother who was in the house during the incident said that he saw three boys around the house who made a suspicious call to confirm if the residents were in the house or not.

According to him, it was about ten minutes after the call that the explosion occurred.

Meanwhile,  security operatives have commenced investigation into an intelligence report that thugs loyal to one of the aspirants, Chief Timi Alaibe, are planning to disrupt the September 3, PDP primaries.

The few aspirants who lost out in the last delegate elections of the party are planning to disrupt the election having realized that their chances of winning had been drastically reduced.
