Dr. Usoro Akpanusoh while congratulating the citizens of Akwa Ibom State on the State's  32nd anniversary celebration, has called on all Akwa Ibom sons and daughters irrespective of political affiliations, to put their hands on deck towards developing the State to the Akwa Ibom of their dreams, maintaining  that  development would only thrive effectively when there is peace and harmony.

In his words, " Akwa Ibom State has been blessed with visionary and committed leaders from the time of late Obong Akpan Isemin to the present Governor of the State, HE, Deacon Udom Emmanuel; These are leaders who have painstakingly devoted their time mapping out possible avenues where Akwa Ibom State could have a name globally. The record we've been able to make globally is prior to the peace and harmony we have practically embraced".

"Before the era of PDP, APC and some other political parties in our today's politics, there had been other popular political parties which had existed, but today, they're are no more. Those political parties have come and gone, but Akwa Ibom has remained, hence, the present political parties and politicians will one day seize to be in existence, but Akwa Ibom as a State will forever remain. In view of this, I am  calling on everyone across party lines to live in peace with one another for the development and betterment of our dear State", he added.

Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh who is also the Member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, applauded Gov. Udom Emmanuel in his steadfastness towards building the Akwa Ibom State the citizens have always been dreaming about. He stated that with the limited resources made available, the Governor has been able to touch so many rural and urban areas of the State with infrastructural amenities, human capital development and empowerment, and more importantly, has made provisions for many industries to thrive effectively in the State. This he said, Gov. Udom Emmanuel has succeeded in turning the State from an allocation dependent State to an Industrial hub within just few years.

The Lawmaker took advantage of the opportunity to express his heartfelt gratitude to the Governor, for appointing someone from his Constituency to serve in his cabinet as a Commissioner, maintaining that it was part of the grievances they expressed to the Governor.

He also called on the Governor to look into answering some other pleas of his Constituency, which one of such is citing at least a project each in Esit Eket and Ibeno LGA, respectively. He maintained that throughout the last four years, no project was executed in his constituency, and that it would be unfair for the Governor to round off his 8 years in office, without touching at least an area in both Local Government Areas that make up his constituency.

On assessing the performance of the Speaker of the 7th Assembly, the Lawmaker hinted newsmen that the Speaker is a rare product in Nigeria's present political realm.

He noted that the expectations on the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, is very high.

"The 6th Assembly was scored very high when it comes to the discharge of legislative duties, so if the new Speaker is unable to surpass the achievements of the 6th Assembly, I have the conviction that he'll maintain the same tempo. This, and nothing less, is required from the 7th Assembly. I can tell you vividly that Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey is one man I've always admired. His humility speaks great volume. With his appointment of members into the House Standing Committees and other great moves, you can take a walk round the assembly premises and members offices to ascertain the level of ongoing renovations, and you will agree with me that the Speaker will record great achievements in this 7th Assembly", Akpanusoh submitted.
