UKPONG-UDO ASSURES CONSTITUENTS OF CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT, JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Good times await the people of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency as the Member representing Ikono/Ini in the House of Representatives, Hon. (Obong) Emmanuel Ukpong-udo has reiterated his commitment to human capacity development and job creation for his constituents in line with the policy thrust of his mission to the green chamber.



He gave the indication over the weekend while  addressing Party Stakeholders and faithful in Ikono LGA during a get-together organized at the behest of the Chairman of Council, Hon. Itoro Columba.


The federal lawmaker assured his constituents of his plans to roll out skill acquisition and empowerment programmes soon, which will impact positively on the lives of the people while also promising to do his best to secure jobs for as many suitably qualified ones as he can.         
 

This, he stated, would be one of the legacies of his four-year sojourn in the House of Representatives.

Hon. Ukpong-udo commended the Council Boss, Hon. Columba for his uncommon show of love to the party and admonished the beneficiaries of the Chairman’s cash empowerment packages to put it to productive use.            He promised to continually support the Chairman in his capacity as the highest political office holder in the area and enjoined all those who had benefitted from the People’s Democratic Party in any capacity to remain steadfast and loyal.


The event had in attendance the member representing Ikono State Constituency, Hon. Asuquo Nana Udo, Ikono Council Executive, members of the legislature, Chapter and Ward officers of the party and a mammoth crowd of other party faithful in the Local Government.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away. According to Comrade Newton, elections did not hold in the seven wards of Nembe-Bassambiri due to the violence orchestrated by political thugs aided by security personnel deployed in the community.
