Oyetola calls for attitudinal change towards tax payment

Governor State of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, said  that no society can grow without embracing tax payment culture.

Mr. Oyetola disclosed this on Thursday when he received in audience the leadership of  the Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers in the State.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Benedict Alabi said there must be a change of orientation towards tax payment by the people, especially the taxable adults.

He declared that his administration is ready to partner the association to jack up the revenue generation through taxes on lands and properties without overburdening anyone.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola said working with the professional body as a government on the management of tax collection on lands and property development would add value to revenue generation for maximum and mutual benefit.

In his words, "tax payment culture must be embraced by all for our society to move forward and it is a collective responsibility to educate people on the need to pay taxes", the Governor said.

Mr. Oyetola also stressed the need for members of the association to protect our environment against disaster such as floods  through their noble profession.
