...SET TO WITHDRAW FROM GOVERNORSHIP RACE

Strong indications have emerged that the Timi Alaibe Campaign Organisation has become panicky following its dismal outing at the People’s Democratic Party Ward Delegate Congress held on Friday in Bayelsa.
The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Youth Group, Comrade Lionel Ebilade, said that top members of the group are embarking on desperate moves to discredit the process that held under the chairmanship of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Dave Umuahi.
Ebilade said that Alaibe and his supporters were jolted by their failed plot to hoodwink the national leadership of the PDP to conduct the gubernatorial primaries of the party only with the statutory delegates.
According to him, the former MD of NDDC and his supporters are already opting to pull out of the gubernatorial race because they lacked the presence to register any electoral victory in the 105 wards to which Bayelsa is divided.
Ebilade said that the PDP Youth Group was happy that the ward congresses held under a peaceful atmosphere with the eager supporters playing their civic duties.
Ebilade called on all party supporters to be firm in their loyalty to the party and to remain in it to strengthen it for the general election.
However, he said that the group was disturbed that Alaibe and his supporters were planning to pull out of the PDP because of their performance at the congress.
He called on all the aspirants and supporters of PDP including the Alaibe Team to display sportsmanship by staying the party even after the primaries to ensure the party’s victory in November 16, 2019 general elections.
Ebilade who advised Alaibe to prevail on his supporters to remain in the PDP stressed that only one winner would emerge in any contest involving two or more persons.
