Bayelsa Guber Aspirant, Romeo Bekeyei, congratulates Gov. Seriake Dickson on his election as Chairman, PDP Govs. Forum

One of the most visible contenders in the November 2019 Bayelsa Gubernatorial race, Hon. Romeo Bekeyei, on Thursday, congratulated Governor Seriake Dickson over his election as the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDPGF).

In a press statement signed by him, Bekeyei, wrote, “I congratulate our dear Governor Seriake Dickson on his appointment and elevation as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDPGF). It is a well deserved development not only for him, but for the entire people of the Ijaw Nation, Niger Delta region, as well as our great party, PDP.”   
                   

"In recalling his past services to the party especially in peace resolution and reconciliatory capacities, he by this appointment, has once more been compelled to embark on yet another mission to serve the Nigerian masses and enhance good governance".

Continuing Bekeyei said: “I personally ascribe this landmark stride to His Excellency’s unblemished track record of excellence, team spirit and uncommon probity.

“I see this as a brighter hope for greater expectations, and I sincerely thank all the other PDP governors for the confidence reposed on one of our own".

"I urge the Dickson leadership of PDPGF to do more to address insecurity and promote good governance, education, rule of law, agriculture, health, economy, employment opportunities and infrastructure development" Bekeyei said.

“The tasks ahead may be huge, but it is surmountable, because the right man with a right and sound mind is in charge.” the security expert cum businessman said.

Reports have it that Dickson was chosen by consensus as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum at a meeting on Wednesday night in Abuja. He succeeds Gov. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of  Gombe State.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away.
