Eid-el Maulud: Minority Caucus Rejoices with Nigerians, Urges National Rebirth

 The Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives has rejoiced with Nigerians, especially the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of the Eid-el Maulud, urging them to use the occasion to strengthen the bond of unity and foster the much-needed national rebirth in the country.


In a statement on Sunday October 9, 2022, by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu,  the Caucus said Eid-el Maulud, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed remains a divine call towards the everlasting love, benevolence, mercies and kindness of the Almighty Allah to mankind.


The Caucus maintained that Nigerians must use the occasion to set aside all forms of hatred, dissentions, mutual suspicion and acts of hostility against one another while reawakening the spirit of unity, tolerance, forgiveness, peaceful co-existence in their daily lives in consonance with the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet.


“It is also imperative that leaders at every level of engagement use the occasion to rededicate themselves to the leadership demands of humility, transparency and selfless service to the people, especially at this period in our national history.


“Moreover, Nigerians are urged not to lose faith but remain hopeful and continue to pray for the peace, unity and cessation of all acts of violence and terrorism in our country, especially as the nation prepares for the 2023 general elections,” the Minority Caucus stated.


While felicitating Nigerians, the Minority Caucus also wished the nation a happy Eid-el Maulud.
