My Fight Is For The People's Welfare Not Against Anyone - Engr. Kayode Ojo

... I want this country to be better for all.

Good day esteemed party man, Engr Kayode Ojo sir.

Thank you for finding time for this interview.

Question 1:

Sir, despite coming 3rd place in the last official primary of APC in Ekiti, unlike some notables, you have remained an active member of APC in ekiti, how and why have you remained in the fold?

I am a card carrying member of APC and APC is the ruling party in Ekiti. It's a duty for me to support our party and government to ensure the party and our government succeed.

Question 2: The JKF2 administration has performed well at administrative delivery, the youth have been reasonable engaged, in your own words sir, how would you view the Ekiti Youth & their ability to compete nationally in any field of endeavor?

I am one of the Ekiti youths you just mentioned. Ekiti youths are industrious, hardworking, honest, and decent. We are competing favourably in various fronts, not only in Nigeria, but also, on global stage. We are great people. I love Ekiti youths and I believe so much on them.

Question 3: The financial paucity nationwide is of concern, Ekiti is not isolated... Which aspect of wealth creation do you reckon is yet to be exploited for the development of the ekiti youth?

There is no doubt that Ekiti youths have huge talents on different aspects of life. What the youths need to thrive is enabling environment for business development. We need to directly open up Ekiti to national and international business development. Our land topography, mineral resources, agriculture and mental resources have not been given adequate attention. Opening up Ekiti to the world is necessary not only to youths development, but to Ekiti development.

I am a bona fide member of APC in Ekiti. Ekiti is my state and my hometown is Ikoro Ekiti. And to this, I am also a politician and have good relationship with every leader of my party. His Excellency is my 'Special Egbon' and all other leaders are my political family friends. Nothing like imbalance in Ekiti APC. Empowerment is more than once in a while palliatives that we give out to cushion the negative effects of post Covid-19. Yes, I personally financed  different programs  for reasonable numbers of Ekiti people every year. Making people better is my understanding of empowerment, and I am always happy doing just that. I am an Engineer, a builder. So, I do more of building people than talking to them.

Question 4: since the last party primary, it is obvious your visibility has not created any imbalance in the polity of APC activities, have you had interactions, empowerment programs, guest speakership engagement with individuals or groups?

Yes, I personally financed  different programs  for reasonable numbers of Ekiti people every year. Making people better is my understanding of empowerment, and I am always happy doing just that. I am an Engineer, a builder. So, I do more of building people than talking to them.

Question 5: what will you do differently going forward as a party man and a leader of a bloc within APC in the coming election cycle?

We learned from 2018 primary and from our great party leaders. I  started building on the outcome of 2018 primary immediately after the election. A lots have been done and we are taking the knowledge gained into the next election.
