Edo Governor, Godwin Obaseki To Chair PDP e-Registration Committee

 Today, Thursday, April 29, 2021 The People's Democratic Party (PDP) arising from an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting held at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, in Abuja, appointed the Governor of Edo State, Chief Godwin Obaseki to serve as Chairman of the PDP e-Registration Committee while his Adamawa State counterpart, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, will serve as Deputy Chairman.  Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has joined other people of goodwill across the globe to felicitate with Dame (Dr) Christie Toby, Wife of the former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Alabo Sir (Dr) Gabriel Toby as she celebrates her 80th Birthday. In a statement from the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, 28th April 2021, the Deputy Governor described Dame (Dr). Christie Toby as a foremost educationist, philanthropist, astute administrator and patriot whose contribution to the educational advancement of children especially those with special learning needs is beyond measure.  Dr. Banigo said Dame Christie Toby blazed the trail by establishing the first all-inclusive school in Nigeria which according to her is highly commendable as a Rivers Woman.  While wishing Dame Dr. Christie Toby many happy returns, the Deputy Governor prayed the Almighty God to continue to bless and keep her in good health.

Governor Diri also warned that the state would not be a safe haven for purveyors of violence even as he restated the ban on open grazing of cattle. Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo says all hands must be on deck to tackle the malaria scourge in Africa. Dr. Banigo stated this in a good will message from the Government House in Port Harcourt on Saturday, 24th April 2021 to commemorate the year 2021 World Malaria Day. According to the Deputy Governor, malaria is preventable if we all take responsibility to keep our environment clean, get rid of stagnant water which is the breeding ground for mosquitoes, ensure we sleep under insecticide treated bed nets and take the right medication when we fall ill.  Dr. Banigo said under the watch of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike the prevalence rate of malaria in the State has reduced drastically to 11%, noting that this is way below the national prevalence rate of 23%. Bayelsa To Prioritise Health Sector Investment

Dr. Banigo expressed this shortly after casting her vote at Ward 14, unit 10, in Obuama, Degema Local Government Area, on Saturday, 17th April 2021.
