Honourable Olalekan Ijidale Empowers Women in Gbonyin LGA of Ekiti State

No fewer than thirty eight women in petty trading in Gbonyin local government have been empowered by the Special Assistant to Ekiti state Governor (Ekiti South) on Mobilization, Honourable Olalekan Ijidale.
Each of the women who were selected from all towns under Gbonyin local government received ten thousand naira each.
Speaking at the programme, Honourable Ijidale said the roles of women in the society could not be quantified.
He explained that the initiative was part of ways to make life easier for them.
The Special Assistant urged the beneficiaries to invest the money in their businesses to yield profit for them while promising to extend the empowerment to all the local governments under Ekiti South Senatorial District.
In a remark, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Chief Niyi Ojo noted that the programme was in line with the vision of Dr. Kayode Fayemi-led administration.
Chief Ojo informed the gathering that the state government had series of empowerment programmes and soft loans to cushion the effects of economic challenges on residents of the state.
Also, the Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ekiti state, Mr. Sola Elesin enjoined other political office holders to cultivate the habit of giving back to the people.
The Director General, Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, Ekiti state, Otunba Kayode Fasae advised the women to involve in profitable ventures that are commensurate with their meagre resources which could fetch them a means of livelihood.
Otunba Fasae also told them that they could apply for loans with low interest rates which could boost their small businesses.
On his part, the Owaoroo of Agbado-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adesina commended Mr. Ijidale for his efforts at making life comfortable for the women.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs. Omojola Akinsola, Mrs. Ogunniyi Mercy and Mrs. Ilesanmi Funke appreciated the facilitator of the programme for bringing succour to them.
