Gov. Fintiri Advocates Public Sensitization As Panacea to Reintegrating Repentant Boko Haram Members

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Friday advocated for thorough public sensitization as a panacea towards accepting the repentant boko haram members back in the society after being fully rehabilitated by government.



The Governor gave the advice while receiving a delegation of Operation Safe Corridor who paid him a courtesy call in the government house Yola.


He assured the readiness of the government to support the committee to ensure that the society is adequately sensitized to that regard so that the surrendered boys particularly those that were lured into the sect are properly reintegrated.


"I commend the efforts of this committee for the good work you are doing to our citizens who at one time have gone astray and joined the dreaded boko haram sect. You deserve a lot of commendation. May God bless you," the Governor said.


He equally saluted the gallant soldiers of the Nigeria Army for working tirelessly

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away.
