APPELLATE COURT VICTORY: PDP GOVS' FORUM FECILITATES GOV DUOYE DIRI

 The PDP Governors' Forum under the leadership of Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has congratulated Senator Duoye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State over the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division’s verdict that set aside the Bayelsa State Election Tribunal earlier nullification of Diri’s election as the Governor of Bayelsa State.



In a press release dated October 2, 2020 and signed by Hon. CID Maduabum, the Director General of the Forum, the governors said that verdict did not come as a surprise as the hand of God is clearly on the throne concerning Governor Diri's leadership of Bayelsa State.

PDP GOVERNORS' FORUM FECILITATES WITH GOV DUOYE DIRI, ON HIS VICTORY AT THE COURT OF APPEAL


The PDP Governors' Forum, under the leadership of Rt. Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal CFR, congratulates Senator Duoye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State over the Court of Appeal verdict setting aside the Bayelsa State Election Tribunal's earlier nullification of his election as the Governor of Bayelsa State.


2. The news of the Appellate Court victory did not come as a surprise because it has been obvious that the hand of God is clearly on the throne concerning Governor Diri's leadership of Bayelsa State.


3. This current affirmation of your mandate, necessary support, prayers and loyalty given by Bayelsans clears the path for you to settle down in the enormous task of taking the state to greater heights without any further distractions. 


We appeal to the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP) and the unseen hands supporting them, to also realize that there must be an end to litigation and it is time to allow Bayelsa Governor to move the State forward by delivering the good governance Bayelsa people crave for and deserve.


4. We see this victory as a testimony to the gallant efforts already made by the Governor since he mounted the saddle a few months ago.


5. It is now left for Governor Diri to reciprocate the love of the people with the resolve to continue to do more in delivering democratic dividends to the people of Bayelsa State who have not only put their hopes on him but have also given their wholehearted trust and undiluted loyalty. We are certain that you will continue to rise to the occasion in the tradition of PDP Governors.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away.
