Kebbi State Government now have Nigeria Customs Service Office

The Nigeria Customs Service has established a State command for Kebbi State.
The Deputy Comptroller-General, Finance and Administration, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Dangaladima, paid a familiarization tour to the office complex in Birnin Kebbi on behalf of the Comptroller General, Retired Colonel Ibrahim Hameed Ali, for the commencement of operation.
The Deputy Comptroller-General told newsmen at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, that the decision to establish a command for Kebbi State was in recognition of the viability of the State.
He explained that Kebbi State has eight border stations legally recognized, which made it necessary to detach the State from Sokoto command.
Answering a question on raids on motor dealers by the Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Dangaladima explained that, it was a nation-wide operation by the Customs Service in line with its statutory functions.
The Deputy Comptroller-General said that a period of grace has been extended to car owners without valid customs duty to possess such document, without which, the law would take its course.
The Deputy Comptroller-General conferred with Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu at the Government House to brief him about the establishment of a new command of Nigeria Customs Service for Kebbi State, as well as offered condolences to the Governor on the death of his uncle, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu Fada.
The Deputy Comptroller-General was accompanied on the visit by top Customs officers including the Commandant of the Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
