SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR WIKE: BANIGO EXPRESSES GRATITUDE BANIGO TO PDP WOMEN

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs Ipalibo Harry Banigo has expressed gratitude to Rivers State PDP Women for their un- alloyed support for Governor Wike.

Dr. Banigo stated this during a courtesy visit by the Rivers  State PDP Women at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday, 3rd September, 2021.

According to Dr. Banigo, Governor  Wike, is pleased with the support of the women, noting that in September, 2015 shortly after the Governor had dedicated the State to the Almighty God  the women had a special Thanksgiving Service  to affirm the Governor’s position.

“Even when there was an annulment of elections in the State, we stood still to see the salvation of our Lord, and God came and said this election must stand. It was the women that took up the mantle and remembered to thank God, because the Governor had dedicated the State to God, and God honoured the thanksgiving  in spite of the conspiracy against the State. Dr. Banigo further stressed.

The Deputy Governor who expressed her desire to see the Rivers Women succeed in their various vocations said “we want our women to stand better wherever they are, whatever their hand finds to do let them do it well, let us encourage them, there is nothing they cannot do, whatever they set their hearts to do, especially when it is worthy and of good report, Iam always here for you”.

Dr. Banigo who congratulated the women for being 15 in number in the State Exco of the party, urged them to have a voice in the upcoming National Convention of the party, adding that the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is always ready to carry women along.

In her remarks the Rivers State PDP Women Leader Hon. Marian Ogbonna commended the Deputy Governor for working harmoniously with the Governor, noting that her humility, loyalty and commitment to the NEW Rivers Vision informed the Governor’s decision to encourage women to emerge as Vice Chairmen and councillors in the 23 Local Government Areas.
