The Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum (PDP-GF) has conveyed its warmest wishes to its Chairman cum Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CON, on his 55th birthday anniversary, January 10.

 


In a press release signed by the Director General  of the Forum, Hon. CID Maduabun, LLM, the Govenors said:


"Along with your family, we give our unreserved gratitude to the Almighty God for His immeasurable kindness and protection, good health and care for you all through the years.


"You have distinguished yourself in public service.  Your achievements as Speaker, House of Representatives, the current Governor of Sokoto State, Deputy Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum is immeasurable.


"You have always made a difference in all your assignments. The dedication to duty, commitment to common good is unmatched. Your ability for human empathy and progressive ideas and ideals is an urgent need in Nigeria of today.


"You are a bridge builder per excellence, a quinticential mobiliser of men and materials.Yes, an administrator of uncommon qualities.


"Those who have worked with you know your passion for development. Your patriotism and love for national unity and rapid development speaks volumes. You are a steady hand at critical periods of national emergency. 


"You have shown remarkable leadership skills in handling the affairs of our Forum (PDP-GF), repositioning it to serve as a stabilising force in national affairs.


"We are confident that your  legacy will live in the minds and hearts of Nigerians you have touched with your services over the years. The best is yet to come.    


"Your birthday is unquestionably a period for sober reflection on our journey so far. It is yet another opportunity  to ponder and profer workable solutions to the Nigerian question. 


"We therefore heartily extend the good wishes of the Forum to you and the entire people of Sokoto State on this occasion.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away. According to Comrade Newton, elections did not hold in the seven wards of Nembe-Bassambiri due to the violence orchestrated by political thugs aided by security personnel deployed in the community.
