COVID-19: 29 Communities in Imo State Receives Palliative Materials from Sen. Samuel Anyanwu

As the world unites in the fight against CoronaVirus also known as #Covid19, Leaders of various countries have reached out to citizens to show support. In Nigeria, the government both at Federal and state level have been reaching out to Nigerians to provide relief in one way or another. Politicians, Celebrities, Businessmen, highly influential and indeed other well meaning Nigerians haven't been left out in the show of love and Oneness. Senator Samuel Anyanwu, is one amongst such people who have shown a great deal of concern especially for Imolites.
The Senator who represented Imo East in the 8th Senate has again today in addition to the huge donation he made to the government of Imo state two (2) weeks ago, in his support in this war against Coronavirus and in support of the outreach to Imolites in these trying times, donated food items and other forms of relief Materials not only to Amaimo which is his hometown but has ensured that all materials gets to the 29 autonomous Community in Ikeduru LGA.
A commitee was set up and the senator gave strict instructions to ensure that all items get to the poor and vulnerable persons in Ikeduru LGA to help ensure that politics is not played with the distribution of palliatives.
One of the highlights of today is the presence of Ihitte Ubi people who are strongly represented by their women. It might interest you to know that Ihitte Ubi is a Community in Ahiazu Mbaise and not in Ikeduru but it does share boundary with Amaimo in Ikeduru LGA which is another indication that the senator is benevolent not only to his immediate community but also to neighboring communities.
While distribution of palliatives was ongoing members of the committee were seen sensitizing the people on the need to adhere strictly to directives from the Federal Ministry of Health, the NCDC and the WHO which insists on social Distancing, and maintenance of high level of hygiene amongst people.
The indigenous people of Ikeduru were seen showing great appreciation over the Senator's kind gesture as they collected these relief items amidst prayers for him and over the pandemic; a strong demonstration of their belief in God that the pandemic will come to an end soon.
Below are a few pictures and a video of today.
