UN Peace Ambassador faults embattled Bayelsa APC Deputy Governorship candidate's claim of character assassination

A United Nations Peace Ambassador and Bayelsa born public analyst Arc ( Pastor) Miebi Bribena has faulted an alleged claim of character assassination by the embattled Deputy Governorship candidate of APC in November, 16, Governorship election, Senator Degi Biobarakumo-Eremienyo.

Senator Degi, in a press statement by his media aide, Mr. Ebinimi Omubo published online alleged Arc Bribena of maligning his image while featuring on a popular current affairs programme on AIT- Focus Nigeria recently.

He claimed that Senator Degi was accused of falsification and forgery of certificate while contesting for the position of councillorship in 1990.

The media aide submitted that there was nothing of such as Senator Degi coasted home to victory without any challenge from his opponent Late Michael Inemo John.

Reacting to the allegations through his counsel, Barrister Liborous Oshoma described the reports as frivolous and, as well figment of writer's imagination.

He submitted that through out the one hour's programme there was no time that his client alluded to certificates forgery or falsification.

It was stated that prior to the conduct of election in 1990, the embattled Senator was taken to court in respect of his credentials but the matter was later settled out of court.

It added further that for avoidance of doubt Senator Degi can apply for video and audio tape of the programme from Daar communication for clarity purposes.

According to the statement, we would have ignored the statement credited to the media aide of Senator Degi but because of the image and personality of our client, hence the need for response.

Senator Degi should go ahead with his threat of legal action after expiration of his seven days notice of withdrawal of the alleged statement.
