UN Peace Ambassador faults embattled Bayelsa APC Deputy Governorship candidate's claim of character assassination

A United Nations Peace Ambassador and Bayelsa born public analyst Arc ( Pastor) Miebi Bribena has faulted an alleged claim of character assassination by the embattled Deputy Governorship candidate of APC in November, 16, Governorship election, Senator Degi Biobarakumo-Eremienyo. Senator Degi, in a press statement by his media aide, Mr. Ebinimi Omubo published online alleged Arc Bribena of maligning his image while featuring on a popular current affairs programme on AIT- Focus Nigeria recently. He claimed that Senator Degi was accused of falsification and forgery of certificate while contesting for the position of councillorship in 1990. The People's Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) Wednesday held its first meeting under the leadership of Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. The meeting, which lasted for about three hours, was held at Shehu Shagari House, the Sokoto state governor's lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. At its close, Gov. Tambuwal told journalists that the forum discussed matters of its national spread and development, how it would be strengthened to meet future political challenges and myriads of issues affecting the nation. - Says it's no victor no vanquished Posted By Tony Okechukwu Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has said Wednesday's Supreme Court ruling was only affirmation of God's judgement, which paved the way for him to emerge victorious. Senator Diri also said that there is no victor no vanquished as the victory is for all Bayelsans regardless of party affiliation. A statement by his acting Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, quoted the triumphant Bayelsa governor as commending the courage and sagacity of the apex court Justices in affirming their earlier judgement of February 13, 2020. Ensure Free/Fair Edo/Ondo Elections - PDP Govs Tell FG, INEC others

Governors on the platform of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have enjoined the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, the electoral umpire - INEC and the various security agencies to ensure that they play impartial roles in the forthcoming gubernatorial  elections in Edo and Ondo States. The Governors also set up committees to address issues arising from the electoral act amendment and constitution review matters as well as illegal/arbitrary deductions from the federation account by the federal government. These and several other resolutions were arrived at when the Governors under the aegis of the PDP Governors Forum held its virtual meeting Saturday, first of August, 2020.  The meeting was presided over by the chairman, Rt. Hon. Kwankwaso Seeks Review of Kano governorship case at the Supreme Court

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has sought the support of People's Democratic Party national leadership for the review of Kano governorship election petition at the supreme court. Senator Kwankwaso along with the PDP governorship candidate Engr. Abba K. Yusuf also known as Abba Gida Gida and other prominent PDP stakeholders from Kano state paid a solidarity visit to the national executive council in Abuja. Senator Kwankwaso appealed to the national working committee to as a matter of responsibility facilitate the process of the supreme court's review on the Kano election petition. He lamented that Kano people were robbed thier mandate through voter disenfranchisement and manipulation of judicial processes. The newly declared governor-elect of Bayelsa state, Senator Diri Duoye and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, have presented their certificates of return to the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with the party chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, declaring that there is no victor no vanquished in the November 16, 2019 gubernatorial electron in the state. Duoye and Ewhrudjakp headed straight to the Legacy House, Abuja to present their certificates to the party leadership soon after obtaining them at the from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Secondus admonished the Governor-elect to unite the people of the state as he also called on the people to support the new leadership.

In the aftermath of  the Monday, February 13, 2020 Supreme Court judgement on the November 2019 Gubernatorial Elections, the PDP Governors Forum, has congratulated the duo of Senator Diri Duruoye and Senator Lawrence Ewhruojakpo, on their emergence as Governor -elect and Deputy Governor- elect respectively of Bayelsa State. Gov Dickson Unveils Housing Units in Bayelsa

Governor Dickson has unveiled 92 Housing units at Ayama, Yenagoa LGA. In his words, over 100hectres was acquired, compensation fully paid and estate built by the Dickson led Restoration Government. The 92 units comprise of 1,2&3 bedroom detached flats have already been allocated to deserving members of the public and mortgage arrangements have equally been concluded for further developments. In all, verifiable housing projects are over 3000 in number scattered across the state They include 26 units In Agbura, 16 units in Opolo, 20 duplexes at the new assembly quarters, 27 units in Ekeremor LGA, 26 in Aleibiri, 25 in Toru Orua, There are 16 duplexes for the judges quarters over 450 headmaster quarters across the state, including schools hostels and staff quarters.

The 2.6km dual carriage way with a width of 10m has been dreaded by previous administrations until because of the treacherous terrain but governor Dickson promised, saw and confronted the terrain. Today, the people of Epie/Atissa in Yenagoa LGA are grateful for the courageous feat. The Kpasia modern market which was commissioned today was equally Initiated and completed by the Dickson led Restora tion Government. It was named Henry Seriake Dickson Market by a resolution reached by the council of chiefs of Kpasia Community. The Kpasia Market aka Henry Seriake Dickson Market, is equipped with 336 shops with toilet facilities, security and perimeter fence. Governor Dickson has by this grassroots project earned the position of second governor ever in the history of Bayelsa State to have built a market for his people.

Gov. Dickson Unveils First Phase of 12km dual carriage ISAAC BORO EXPRESS WAY.

Governor Dickson today unveiled the Isaac Boro Express Way. The 12km dual carriage road which has been in use the past seven years being the major artery of the state capital, was a single lane road before the Dickson led Restoration Government assumed office in 2012. The governor who today commissioned the completed the 9.7km in length, equipped with one flyover, 23m wide, and spanning from Oxbow lake to Tombia Junction being the first phase of the road, stated that the dual carriage way and other roads constructed in the state, came at a great cost especially with the dwindling economy and would serve the people for a long time. The second phase is about 3km long comprising of another flyover at Tombia junction. The contract for the second phase has already been awarded to the same company that constructed the first phase, Julius Berger and the governor used the opportunity to call on the incoming government to advance the project as it was for the good of all. Posted By Tony Okechukwu  The 20 units 4bedroom semi detached duplexes equipped with central water control along Isaac Boro Express way, was handed over and received by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Kate Abiri on behalf of the Bayelsa State Judiciary. The premises can accommodate 40 structures,and a direct labour contract. Governor Dickson speaking stated that this isone of the projects he wanted to handover to the judiciary. He said he had desired a serene environment to become the official quarters of judges. The governor equally expressed that it was his hope that the buildings will not be sold nor arbitrarily allocated to individual judges. 'This is the official judiciary quarters where all judges in office will reside and return back to the judiciary after their service period.'
