Obong Victor Attah Appointed as Chancellor of Western Delta University

The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, has been appointed the Chancellor of Western Delta University (WDU), Oghara, Delta State.

The university's Board of Trustees made the appointment and his inauguration will take place at the permanent site of the Western Delta University campus, on the Benin-Warri Expressway, Oghara, on Friday.

The inauguration will be one of the highlights of the Western Delta University's 10th year anniversary which will last all through this week and will end with the combined convocation on Saturday.

Attah who governed Akwa Ibom State from 1999 t0 2007 is not only a widely recognised architect but was the National President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects. He is also a practitioner of the National Council of Architects Registration Board (NCARB), of the State of New York, and a member by qualification, of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away.
