The Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District, Sen Samuel Anyanwu, has stated that there is no going back on his quest to govern Imo State.

Senator Anyanwu made the statement on Sunday when he met with members of his Divine Mandate Movement Campaign Organization and other support groups, in Owerri, the state capital.

He said that he was 100 percent ready to govern the state.

The Senator reiterated his commitment to remaining in the People's Democratic Party, PDP, and working in the interest of the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.

However, he opined that he was concentrating on challenging the outcome of the October 1 governorship primary election of the party which produced Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as the flag bearer in the state.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, insisted that he was the rightful winner of the primary election and said that he must reclaim his 'stolen mandate'.

"Divine Mandate is a movement that cannot die. Imo people are desirous to have me as their governor and for this reason I am still in the race. I will reclaim my mandate and I must be on the ballot", he declared.

"I am not coming to create followers, but to build leaders in Imo State".

The former Imo State House of Assembly member declared his unalienable support for the presidential candidate of his party, Atiku Abubakar. He predicted that Atiku will become President of Nigeria in 2019.

"Divine Mandate Movement will work for Atiku. His project is my project. Come 2019, Atiku will become President of Nigeria".

Samdaddy Vanguard, Coalition Movement, and Samdaddy Imo Mass Movement were other support groups of the Senator present at the meeting.
