Turnah's Mom For Burial Feb 28

The remains of the late Deaconess Elizabeth Titi Charles, mother of the Executive Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Public Affairs and Social Orientation, Mr. George Turnah, will be laid to rest on Sunday, February 28.

The funeral ceremonies will take place at the Igbu Ishi Egba Playground in her hometown, Edeoha, in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Deaconess Charles passed on July 17, 2020 at the age of 67 at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital after a protracted illness.

A devoted Christian and member of the Christian Church of God Mission (CCGM), Madam Charles is fondly remembered for her selflessness and industry.

An ardent lover of God and mankind, the  Deaconess impacted her community with her faith. She single-handedly built a pastor's residence and children's section at the Edeoha branch of her church, CCGM.

She also loved education that she not only became a primary school teacher with the Rivers State Government until her demise, but also founded the Eliben Nursery and Primary School in her community.

She was a woman of many industrious parts. One of her vocations was farming. The seasoned farmer ensured her two children got university education through proceeds from her farm.

Madam Charles was also known for her unyielding support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Even while hospitalised, she prayed and believed that Senator Douye Diri would become governor of Bayelsa State, a wish that God granted before her demise.

According to the funeral programme released by the family, on Saturday, February 27, a novelty match between Bayelsa Queens Football Club and the All-Stars of Edeoha would be played in her honour before the Service of Songs on same day.
