Ahead Bayelsa 2019: Romeo Bekeyei Unveils Plans for a Greater Bayelsa

As the buildup to the November 2019 guber election in Bayelsa State gathers momentum, one of the frontline gladiators gunning for the soul of the state, Hon. Romeo Bekeyei on behalf of his “Governorship Campaign Organization” weekend, unveiled the depths and heights of his sublime dreams and visions for a Greater Bayelsa State and by extension, the entire Ijaw Nation. 
                                                                                 
Bekeyei made the disclosure when he and some key members of the team paid a visit to foremost Niger Delta activist, Ankio Briggs at her Port Harcourt residence Presenting the framework of his Governorship Manifesto for Bayelsa State, the young businessman cum politician, pledged to ultimately elevate the standards of living for the good of the common Ijaw Man/Niger Deltans.                                                       
Ms. Briggs, who has consistently led the call for development and survival of the Ijaw Nation, was grateful for the visit and encouraged Hon. Bekeyei to ceaselessly be steadfast in his pursuit to serve Bayelsa State and the Ijaw Nation.
                                                                       
In his response, Bekeyei, thanked her for the audience and the resolve to support his dreams.                His words “I sincerely appreciate your words of encouragement, your prayers today, and your support and endorsement of our manifesto which clearly upholds the massive industrialization programme of Bayelsa State, a step that will create massive job opportunities for the beloved people of Ijaw Nation. I also thank you for supporting our dream to unify and bring the Ijaws together as one people, as Chief DSP Alamieseigha of blessed memory always did during his lifetime".
                                                             
Continuing he added, "For me, Romeo Bekeyei, this is only the beginning of this journey. As the elections continue to draw closer, I will go further in my aspirations with mandatory consultations to His Excellency, Gov. Seriake Dickson, Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, the party leadership, traditional rulers across the Ijaw Nation, the I.N.C and the I.Y.C in respect of unveiling my divine manifesto which elucidates my visions and dreams for a Greater Bayelsa".
                                                           
   Bekeyei, who was the Head of Protocol for the PDP Presidential Campaigns that flew the Atiku/Obi ticket in the February General Elections, made it clear that his conviction for a Greater Bayelsa burns steadily in his heart, and he believes it is time for the Ijaw Nation to produce a young, God-fearing and vibrant personality with the right mindset to catapult Bayelsa State and the Ijaw Nation into the league of the most developed cities in Africa.                               

Concluding, he added that he has no doubt that the mantle rests on his shoulders, and in God alone will he trust for a Greater Bayelsa.

GOs Protest Fraudulent Election Results in Bayelsa

Posted By Tony Okechukwu Members of various non-governmental organisations and civil society groups in Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some parts of the state. Comrade Toitoi Newton of the Grassroots For Development, who led the protest to the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Yenagoa, told journalists that the CSOs demand a cancellation of the purported results from Constituency 4 in Southern Ijaw council and Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe council where election materials were carted away.
