Senator Dickson Hosts Community Based Cooperatives For Women And Youths Of Bayelsa West Senatorial District.

Former governor of Bayelsa State and serving Senator, Henry Seriake Dickson today in Toru Orua, Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa, received executive committee members of the Community based Cooperative  organisations for women and youths of Bayelsa West Senatorial District.  Over 250 grassroots community based Cooperative  Youths and Women groups represented by their Executive council members, came to introduce themselves and present their registration certificates to Senator Seriake Dickson, in company of his wife, Dr. Mrs. Rachel Dickson at their country home in Toru Orua, Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa State on Thursday, 30th of December,  2021. The children of Toru Orua had a great time playing, feasting, singing and dancing from Christmas Day, December 25th 2021 to Monday, December 28th 2021. It was from one Traditional folklore or the other to continuous singing and dancing at the expansive country home of the former governor of Bayelsa State and current Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District at the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It was clear to this writer from the onset that Senator Dickson loves the Children as well as the youths of his community and beyond. Indeed the children had fun as crossfire reports brings you, the sights and sounds of  three days of excitement enabled for the children by Senator Dickson. It should be noted that the final match of the Ofurumapepe Cup comes up today, 28th of December, 2021 at the Sagbama Stadium. As the Ofurumapepe Cup takes place today, 28th December, 2021, let's have an update on the Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation  and see some of it's ongoing sports development sponsorship competitions. The Henry Seriake Dickson (HSD) Foundation is the sponsor of the ongoing community-based grassroots football competition, the Ofurumapepe Cup, which involves 100 teams and 1000 young boys. The Foundation also recently unveiled the  Nanaye Dickson Wrestling Tournament in Abuja where Two Ijaw Wrestling Icons were recognized and honoured. The Nanaye Dickson Wrestling Tournament will also be declared open on 30th of December, 2021.   ....Dickson to unveil Ofurumapepe Football Club The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Bayelsa Chapter, on boxing Day, presented an Award of Excellence, to His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for his contributions towards Sports Development in Bayelsa State. Chairman Bayelsa SWAN, Comrade Alambo Datonye, while presenting the award to the former Governor, eulogised him for initiating and completing all projects executed in the subsector, during his reign as Governor of the state. ...As Ofurumapepe Cup Grand Finale Holds on Tuesday  28th December All is now set for finals of the maiden edition of the annual Senator Henry Seriake Dickson Football Tournament, known as the Ofurumapepe Cup.  In a statement signed by the Technical Consultant of the competition, Mr. Ono Akpe, Tuesday, December 28th, has been fixed for the grand finale which will be held in Sagbama Town at 2pm in the presence of top government functionaries and sports lovers. According to the statement, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri Governor of Bayelsa State is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour, while the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo is the Guest of Honour. Gov Diri Offers Scholarship, Jobs To Late PDP Women Leader's Children

 Bayelsa State government has offered scholarship and immediate employment to four children of the late women leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state, Dame Gloria Igbeta. Governor Douye Diri made the pronouncement on Saturday during Dame Igbeta's funeral service at Otuasega community in Ogbia Local Government Area. Governor Diri described the late female politician as a woman of integrity and strong principles. According to the governor, the deceased was a committed member of the PDP and worked for the success of the party in the face of temptation to renege on her principles. He urged people to emulate her stable character, which endeared her to many as attested to by the number of people that came to pay their last respects.
